Description

This series where taken during a night trip to the Iguazu falls, october 2004
These trips only happen during full moons and only if weather conditions are good, so they are pretty rare.
More rare even is to take a film camera with tripod and a suitable film, but I did.
I'm obviously not a master of night photography so most of the pictures where crap, but I managed to get a handful of pictures I liked.
If I where going to take this pictures again, I would have taken more film, a good lightmeter and a clock to time up the exposures. Every one of this pictures where taken by guessing the exposures times, and mentally counting seconds, so these pictures are more miracle than skill. Also I would take more insect repellent.

Technical notes: All of this series where taken with a vivitar 400SL, 50mm lens, tripod, shutter cable with Agfa400 film pushed to 800ASA. Lighting conditions where natural moonlight as time was midnight (except in "Cataratas nocturnas 2 (fantasmas)" where silohuettes appears courtesy of other people's pocket flash cameras.
Even when it looks like a desolate and lonely place it was swarming with tourists).

This picture is one of my two favourites from the trip. This one of the view's of the devil's throat. The silky appearence is due to the long time exposure, and the reddis colouring of the water is because the falls where near their higest historico volume of water, and where dragging dirt from the riviera. Dirt is red coloured in Misiones (Argentinian province) due to high content of iron oxide.

Taking the picture was tricky but this is one of the magic moments in my life I'll will ever treasure, asn now I share this with you.

Lovely waterfall, but...
You don't have to write about all the mistakes you have made. I read the description and think: 'ahh yeah, that could have been better'. But if you haven't told that, perhaps I wouldn't even spot...
